How long has it been used cork floor?

I know that Frank Lloyd Wright used it to house the water that falls in the 30's, but How long has it been around before that? Thanks in advance:)

Cork flooring was first used popularly at the end of the 19th century. In early 20 th century, Frank Lloyd Wright was incorporating cork flooring in some of the public buildings he designed. Many of these buildings still feature of these original cork floors.
