I prefer beech, why? because cherry floor make your room look old and seem dark because your lovely furniture is black, black and black. The red tone of the cherry make its look like that.
so beech make the furniture outstanding. Cover the window with cream/beige roller blind or vertical blind if you don't like curtain. Sheer its ok if you want still more natural light in living room.
