Cork Flooring....Yes or No?
I am looking for a kitchen floor. I do not want ceramic tile and I am leery of hardwood. I was looking at cork flooring and wanted to know if anyone has it in their kitchens and if they like it or not. Is it hard to keep clean?
Cork is a great flooring material if you are looking for resliience and soundproofing. However, it is not a great material for the kitchen.
Have your considered rubber flooring? This is making a great comeback after years of absence. Rubber flooring has many of the same qualities as cork. Rubber flooring is scuffproof, great underfoot if you stand working long periods in the kitchen, easy to maintain, soundproof and can last up to 50 years.
It now comes in great patterns such as marble and granite. The only caveat is to be sure you have a good clean subfloor in order to create a good bond with the tile's backing.
