cork flooring Frequently Asked Questions
Cork flooring?
Advantages, disadvantages. How do you tell the extent of cleaning, noisy animals, etc.?
I have cork flooring in my house and I love it! It is very easy to clean and does not tarnish the wood. It is softer on the feet of wood or tile and absorbs sound better. Do not click this rattle when walking with shoes, just do not use your high heels at him, he hits a little easier. It is also ideal if you have the people with allergies because it does not have in the dust the other floors. dust just a little roll on the edges of the room, rather than clinging everywhere. It is easy to install and generally "float" above the existing floor, so no need to remove the old equipment, unless you want a. Also the cork trees felled arent as regular, the plug is pulled Mearly leaving the entire tree to produce more cork. Cork is a bit more money, but I think worth it.
what should i do? port problem?
I have pioneer floor speakers with 3 5.25 per speaker and there are 2 1.5" ports per speaker. I had some chuffing when i turned it up a bit. so i set the crossover at 150hz but i dont want my sub sounding boomy so i set the sub at 70hz max. I now have a gap. I put my hand over the ports and it made a massive difference! It sounded much better! Are there anythings that I could use to plug the ports like big corks from bottles or maybe there are some port plugs I could buy. What should i use to plug my ports? I dont wanna make my speakers look crappy with alot of tape or anything like that,.
hey maniac, home should i put in the polyphil fiber in the cabinet through the ports? the grills dont come off.
Quilt "batting" material. You should be able to find it in any fabric store or probably at Walmart. This will work better than plugging them with a solid plug. Just stuff them lightly, this is called a "resistive vent" or, "Aperiodic system" and it works more like making the box seem slightly larger instead of acting like a ported system. Scanspeak sells a plastic frame housing damping material for this but you can get similar results by just stuffing the existing ports with the quilt batting material.

Edit: If the grills don't come off then that's a problem. There should be a way to service the speakers so there must be a way to get the grill off but possibly not without damaging them. Maybe it's just time for new speakers.
