What are the best shoes/insoles for a fast food job in which I stand on a concrete floor all day?
I currently have wal-mart's non-slip shoes. I have been at my job for 4 months, I am constantly standing or walking on concrete and my feet and knees are paying the price. My feet hurt bad by the middle of the week, and sometimes my knees have troubles too.
A co-worker was prescribed cork insoles. I know they are expensive, but I would be willing to pay the price if they actually saved me from damaging my feet and knees, I just don't know and I can't find any reliable information. Does anyone have any ideas?
1) Quality and Cheap don't go together. Wal-Mart's shoes are mass produced and aren't quality, so in addition to being bad for your legs they don't have very good slip resistance either. So if you're willing to pay the money for quality shoes, that's a good first step, because your feet and your health are worth it.
2) Does your employer have a requirement about which companies you can/must buy shoes from? Some companies have payroll deduction programs set up where employees have to buy through certain shoe vendors, so that may limit your options.
3) I would recommend one of these two shoes, depending on your style
