Can I put cork tiles on top of existing vinyl tiles or must I settle directly to the sub floor?
If the tiles existing vinyl are directly on the ocean floor, it's best to put a new layer below Luan (1 / 4 inch ply wood). This provides better adhesion to take wood glue. Now, if they are vinyl tiles over a floor Luan pull that up from your easy to do and start a new bare soil. You can then determine if the sub floor needs a layer of Luan or soft enough to go. At this point you can set screams when necessary. Some wood adhesives may or may not bond to a vinyl, you have to see if yours does or not. And if you have any of these skits can cause your new floor to be loose now or at a later date whether to come loose. GL
