Can you paint an existing cork floor?
The flooring in our home is cork, and it's lovely, sealed and in good condition, but i'm tired of its yellow brown colour.
Is it possible to paint it, and give it a finish that is durable and lasting? (ie i don't want a chipped scratched painted floor with the cork showing through in a few years)

I really wouldn't, it's best to sand the floor down and then paint. The kind of paint needed on flooring won't take well over other paint. It has that gloss inside it, and gloss doesn't stick well to gloss. You'd get the that slightly sticky, gummy thing going, where it's alot easier to put dents into the finish and that. Know what I mean? So it's best to start from scratch. There is a way around sanding, there is this liquid stuff you can use that helps eat away gloss and stuff, they use it on furiture when they want to refurbish it, but not take away the natural wood pattern. It is easier than sanding and less time taking.
