hardwood floors
What can I put on the wooden floor to really help absorb the noise?

I live in an apartment with my husband and two years old. We with hardwood floors. My daughter has a little area of games room and is strong on his feet and toys are very strong when it comes to hardwood flooring. The floor of the baby does not seem to be thick enough and even put an area rug over it. Does anyone have any creative suggestions? I thought of gym mats and throw to make it smooth and elegant to put a carpet over that. Anyone would think that working?

Gym mats absorb sound and help, but ….. This carpet also can react (chemically) with the top layer of a wood floor. If the top layer is an oil-based urethane and rubber gym mats are rubber or plastic, which can react and produce a permanent stain on the wood. There are special, very fine carpets you can put in the gym mats to protect the wooden floor and allow them to breathe .. It is only possible way to treat a carpet on the 1st and see how it works. Even some of these carpets need a protective layer under them out, depending what type of carpet you get. Any questions you can e-message through my avatar .. GL
