Laying laminate over hardwood floors without damaging?
I want to put laminate wood planks over hardwood floors but i don't want to damage the hardwoods. I want to put laminate down because the hardwoods are too dark for my liking. I eventually want to pull the laminate up and shine it before I sell the house in 10-15 years. Is it possible to lay the laminate without damaging the hardwood floors?
Regardless of any other reason, there are three grades of underlayment, good-better-best, and you should always buy the best because (1) it has the best insulative value; (2) it provides a far better feel and sound from the floor; and now (3) because it will protect L MO's floor far better then the other two. Clean the floor well, I'd also wax it if it were me, and then lay out the underlayment, duct taping the seams with continuous runs of tape. Once you're laid out use some 2" blue safe-release tape to secure the perimeter of the underlayment to the floor and seal any edges that are still exposed. The safe release will hold long enough for you to get started and then eventually release from the wood and just provide some edge protection.
Your finished what now is a subfloor will stay pristine for eternity or until you pull the laminate.

I have laminate flooring ( like pergo) made to look like hardwood flooring...and I need to clean it!!!!?
So I was wondering if any one had laminate flooring ( mine is by company called Quick Step) and have tried to clean it with vineger? Does it work well? What is the recipe... I think I would much rather use a mixture of water and vinegar on my floors instead of chemicals because I have an 11 month old, and I am pregnant again! I am sorry but I don't buy the idea of cleaning with just water! Water is not a disinfectant! So please if anyone has tried the vinegar and water way of cleaning and it worked please let me know, and also how many parts water to the vinegar, and also what type of vinegar should I buy?
