Installing hardwood floors over particle board?
I about to put bamboo flooring in my house. Our subfloor is particle board. I suggested to my husband who left us 7 / 16 "plywood to particle board will decide on the felt paper and install the floor. The floor level is not a lot of areas and would easiet how wide and because the State guarantee is void if installed over particle board. My husband wants to level the ground with some kind of compound or something, then left the right of felt paper on particle board and lay the plants only way save on the cost (which is not concerned that is warrantied) and plywood, because over the existing subfloor would make bamboo flooring so much more then the rest of the floors of the house. Just dawned on me why not to bring it into particle board is probably a problem of the nails do not catch correctly. Is there a nail that is riveted or something to wake up in the particle board or am I in trouble?
I put the bamboo on the boards particle and this is what I did: 1. Remove all nail baseboards and walls. 2. Filling gaps or joints with a flexible filler. 3. Level differences with a leveling compound to both sides and let dry. 4. Get a straight line using a laser or a chalk line. Temporarily set a solid bar the ground and then start to put the bamboo on a road barrier. Make sure you choose the right road because the bamboo barrier will move if not done properly, try and stick to the manufacturers assembly instructions as possible. If you have any difficulties then please call the technical department., And the will to respond any questions you may have, but try to get a technical advisor name and if you have a dispute with your warranty. Good luck, Phil
