I'm interested in installing cork flooring. I've been told that it acts as a sound barrier. I have a new home, the master bedroom is above the kitchen and the genius builder didn't insulate between the floors. It doesn't matter how softly or hard someone walks across the floor, it wakes me up b/c of the noise but also b/c of the vibration.
