A segment of bamboo floor installed 3 years ago is lifting, they suspect a slab leak.?

How is a slab leak identified and diagnosed? I have heard of coating methods that are used rather than replacing pipes, is this viable and reliable? How can I protect myself from getting taken advantage of in this scary process?

Hire a Pro. most Plumbers do leak detecting… make sure they have good equipment just ask them and then research the equipment…. they will charge you a fee just for locating it…….if they are realy good they will usually know by experience if it will be worth digging it up…. or to replace it depending on the situation and age of the home….water takes the coarse of LEAST resistance…… meaning you fix it in 1 spot and it breaks in another………If you want to do some Investigating on your own….. just locate your water meter while looking at it have some 1 turn on a faucett… you will normally see like a red 3 sided dial spin real fast…ok then have the person inside shut the water off…………you may have to watch that same dial for a tleast 30 seconds if it moves and your toilets dont run and you have no drippy faucetts then you have a slab leak…… if you want to locate it your self and you live in a fairly quite area? turn off the main electric breaker (to quite all appliances) get a doctors stethescope press it to the floor where you suspect the leak AND also the surrounding area’s.
