hardwood installation

Oak hardwood floors prefinished Oak Unfinished face is a choice that consumers face when considering hardwood flooring in new or existing home.

More often than not, the appeal of having a flat habit is attractive to the consumer. If you are adamant that the word a perfect match to your custom color cabinets, and you can not find a prefinished floor that goes with them, and then look unfinished is probably an option for you. But that's the only reason a floor without finish must be considered when the color is the only factor.

A few things to consider when deciding between lacquered wood floors and unfinished:

1. A lacquered wooden floor will have a higher quality finish to a custom unfinished, stained version. Finishing Wood Floors usually have between 4-7 layers of oxide aluminum and polyurethane or factory applied using various treatments including pressure and heat. Not only is the incomparably best finish in a wood prefinished, but the process of the plant also gets rid of the wood of any excess moisture. Large custom wood floor installers out there. No misunderstand me! They just can not give you the quality of the finish due to limitations in the field, plain physics, temperature, physics and chemistry.

2. The manufacturers are between 5 and 25 year wear warranty and 5 and 15 years in the finish itself. If you go with a custom stained unfinished floor will guaranteed for 1 year at best.

3. A custom pre-finished floor will take much longer to install. The floor has to be "aired" and before the work has to be nailed down, then sand, then stained, then finished, and then sometimes another finish is applied. Can be a long week sometimes. The installation of a lacquered wood floor takes about half the time front end.

4. A lacquered wooden floor produces less off-gassing and VOC's than a custom unfinished version during and after installation.

5. Unfinished wood will have to be refinished more faster than the factory prefinished versions. Refinishing a floor can be an expensive project.

Do not get me wrong on this! It may seem that I am playing unfinished Custom wood floors. If you want to have a custom floor, that's great. However, you need to be armed with the right skills so you can decide if it is really the right choice for you.
