I think it was paste wax. I want to make the polyurethane and also use the word dark. The floors have been sanded, can I apply the stain and polyurethane now? Son of light oak (hardwood). Thank you.
If you do not know stick with oil-based products from Minwax. Do not use a poly or combo 'product and stains. If soft sand who have had a good start … stains wait a day or two to fix the stain. Then apply the poly-suggest 4 layers of wool — it dries fast, in fact, will wet, but actually be very dry in a few hours. You can walk on it within 24 hours – but do not put furniture for a few days a week if you can wait that long. The spot smells worse than the poly-but not so bad.
