unfinished wood flooring
Sealing of wooden floors unfinished, pls help?

I need an expert opinion here: I recently stopped my nasty old carpet for reveal the nice hardwood floors throughout the house. I did a water test, and the soils appear to be unsealed. They are definitely not finished. The floors are completely smooth, and require no sanding, are like a baby's bottom! What is the cheapest and easiest for me to continue? I know there are few options-waxing, and polyurathane. How and what do I apply for these options? I'm not a big fan of sanding between coats, and I wondered if there is anything that can be stored there in a day. (I can not pay a professional). Waxing seems tempting it serves as a sealant and an end? If I choose water-based polyurathane-served this as a sealant and an end? Or you need both?

First, use a flexible spatula to fill the holes of the strips of carpet pad staples course and with a colored wood filler, then clean with a damp cloth. You may want to screen the whole floor using A # 120 in a grain screen buffer hire 16 "floor (the machine used most often used to wax the linoleum), then sweep, vacuum and tack. This will remove all dirt and everything stuck to the wood surface, and really ready for floor covering. Waxing is the method used by the grandmother, and require moving furniture, stripping and rewaxing forever. This labor-intensive maintenance is why in the 1950s and 60s, so many homes are wall to wall carpet installed over the wood. But it is an option. A slightly better option is to apply a natural oil like tung oil mixed 50/50 with mineral spirits. Simply paint on, wipe with a cloth, wait a couple of days to really dry and voila. More slowly, but as wax, rubbed oil will get dirty and need to do it again. A polyurethane finish sealing, as required much less maintenance. Without But the first layer of sealing any finish will raise the wood grain a bit, making it feel rough. Water-based finishes offer easier cleaning Tools and quick drying, but raise the grain more than solvent based. Although the first layer is dry to the touch AFEW hours, allowed to dry overnight, after all the fan lightly with a flat screen uses # 120 grain or brown polished a new pad, thus breaking the grain. Again sweep, vacuum and tactics. Then apply another coat or two. To maintain that only vacuum or sweep the dust and sometimes USAEE a damp cloth to clean the spill.
