Can I paint old vinyl tiles?
I'm redoing a solarium in Florida and the floor is in good condition, but the white textured floor prof vinyl tiles laid, I want a cork tile look and wondered if there is a plastic type of paint to do the job. It will not get a great amount of traffic of shoes. TKS.
You can "paint" the tile with a 100% success. However, it will be a 2 part epoxy paint floor. Here's how. You'll have to rent an orbital sander to clean and scrape the surface with 400 grit sandpaper. Then the two part epoxy mix and use of an applicator. Im not sure how you want to achieve the look of cork tiles, but with some expermentation, I'm sure you could. The epoxy floor is available in Chicago, here at Menards this week for $ 38 and covers 250 square feet on the ground and 500 on 2 new application. MAB Paints also sells a similar material with the more color selections.
